Gamescom 2026, held in Cologne, Germany, set historic records as 368,000 visitors from 131 countries around the world attended the trade show.

On August 30 (local time), the organizers of Gamescom announced that the number of international visitors increased by 6% year-over-year at this year's event, while the proportion of foreign participating companies also reached an all-time high. Over 36,000 trade visitors attended the venue, and digital content views surpassed 624 million.

For the first time, this year's Gamescom completely sold out its entire exhibition area of approximately 233,000 square meters. A total of 1,743 companies from 66 countries participated, marking an 11% increase compared to 2025. Foreign companies accounted for 72% of all exhibiting companies, setting an all-time high, while 48 country pavilions were operated across 41 nations.

In addition, global digital content views exceeded 624 million as of Saturday evening. Among these, 'Opening Night Live' recorded 78 million views. Furthermore, the 'Awesome Indies Show' grew significantly, and the digital community adventure content 'Gamescom Epix' also recorded high page views.

The developer conference 'gamescom dev' recorded 6,200 registered participants, a 15% increase, as it strengthened its ties with gamescom week. Meanwhile, at the 'gamescom congress', where German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier attended as the first sitting president to do so, over 1,100 participants gathered to discuss the potential of games.

Meanwhile, Gamescom 2027 has been confirmed to take place from August 23 to 29. Starting with 'gamescom dev' on August 23 and 24, 'Opening Night Live' will take place on the evening of August 24. August 25 will operate as Business and Media Day, with Wildcard holders granted access starting from 1:00 p.m. General public admission will begin on August 26.
