The winners of the "gamescom award 2026," which honors the standout games and companies of Gamescom 2026, have been announced. CD Projekt Red and Sega took home three awards each, while Capcom and Ubisoft secured two awards each.
The Gamescom Award Committee announced the results of gamescom award 2026, spanning a total of 19 categories, on August 28 local time. This year's awards featured jury-selected categories alongside consumer-voted categories decided by attendees on-site.
CD Projekt Red claimed three awards for its entries related to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The announcement of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered and the new DLC "Songs of the Past" won Best Trailer / Announcement, while the pin and medallion offered at the DLC booth were named Best Merchandise. The "Songs of the Past" booth was also recognized as Best Booth selected by the jury.
Sega also won three awards. Creative Assembly's Alien: Isolation 2 took Best Audio, Total War: Warhammer 40,000 was selected as Best PC Game, and Sega won Best Lineup, which evaluates a publisher's entire showcase at Gamescom.
Capcom's Onimusha: Way of the Sword became a double winner by taking Best Gameplay and Best Sony PlayStation Game. Ubisoft won Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game with Rayman Legends Retold, and its business lounge was named Best Business Booth.
The special jury award, "HEART OF GAMING," went to the charity speedrunning event Games Done Quick (GDQ). GDQ has raised over $50 million through charity efforts to date, and at this year's Gamescom, it is hosting Europe's first-ever Gamescom GDQ from August 28 to 30.
Meanwhile, Pearl Abyss was nominated in the Best PC Game and Most Epic categories for Crimson Desert at this year's Gamescom Awards, but failed to win. Best PC Game went to Total War: Warhammer 40,000, and Most Epic was awarded to Tides of Annihilation.
