The console version of Rockstar Games' upcoming title 'GTA 6' is currently running at 30 frames per second (30fps) in its development build. However, this reflects the status confirmed during the development process. While there is no basis to conclude that the November launch version will be locked to 30fps, it has not yet been confirmed whether a 60fps performance mode will be provided.

Davy Jones, a content creator for Brazilian gaming outlet Flow Games, recently visited Rockstar North in Edinburgh, Scotland, and watched a hands-off demo of 'GTA 6' for over two hours. Rob Nelson, head of development and co-studio head at Rockstar North, was present at the session.
According to Flow Games, Nelson explained that the console version in its current development stage is running at 30fps. The outlet reported that this baseline applies to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as the PS5 Pro.
However, when asked whether a 60fps option could be provided at launch or post-launch, Nelson responded that confirmation from the technical team was required. He also did not disclose specific figures regarding other technical specifications, such as resolution and ray tracing implementation. Therefore, what has been confirmed is merely the performance state of the build in development, and it does not mean that performance modes for the launch version have been finalized.
The approximately 26-minute video 'Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look,' released by Rockstar Games on August 28, was captured using in-game footage recorded on PS5. Digital Foundry analyzed the source video and noted that it generally displayed a stable 30fps output. However, they cautioned that because the video itself was rendered at 30fps, it cannot be taken as a definitive measurement of the final product's performance.
'GTA 6' is scheduled to launch on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players will need to wait for further announcements from Rockstar Games regarding final technical specifications, including per-platform resolutions, performance modes, and PS5 Pro-specific enhancements.
