Neptune announced on August 28 that it signed a game content supply agreement with Kakao Pay and will participate as a partner for Kakao Pay Mini Game.
Launched by Kakao Pay in February this year, Mini Game is a service that rewards users with Kakao Pay points when they play games and complete simple missions.
Neptune plans to select casual titles suitable for Kakao Pay users from among its own IP and affiliated developers, providing them in H5 (HTML5) format. Users can enjoy the games directly within Kakao Pay and KakaoTalk without installing separate apps.
The supplied games will feature ADX, a mobile ad monetization platform operated by Neptune. Neptune expects to boost profitability by automatically serving ads with higher unit prices per impression. The company explained that it was selected as a partner after meeting technical requirements requested by Kakao Pay, such as stability and security, and being recognized for its ability to manage large-scale user traffic.
Since July last year, Neptune has participated as a partner for Toss's 'App in Toss,' servicing around 30 games including 'Infinite Stairs' and 'Cat Snack Bar.' The company has also been preparing its game content supply business targeting platform operators, including holding an 'HTML5 Game Challenge' contest.
Seung-hyun Kwon, Head of Neptune's Game Business Division, said, "This agreement is the result of recognition for Neptune's competitiveness in H5 game development and service operations," adding, "We will expand collaboration with major domestic platforms to broaden our game content supply foundation and strengthen our competitiveness in the H5 game business."
