Nexon announced on August 27 that it has launched two new worlds linked to the computational thinking science comic 'Hello Maple 2' on its block coding platform 'Hello Maple'.

'Hello Maple 2' is a science comic designed to help children develop computational thinking skills as they follow the adventures and problem-solving processes of 'MapleStory' characters. In April, Nexon published the science comic 'Hello Maple' in collaboration with Seoul Cultural Publishers and introduced three linked worlds.

The newly added 'Hello Maple Comics 2' worlds adapt key episodes from the comic into game-style content. They consist of two worlds: the combat-style world 'Quest 1: Quell Snubi's Wrath' and the story-style world 'Quest 2: Detective, Find the Clues'.

Users can play as characters from the comic to carry out distinct missions, such as engaging in combat or searching for clues. The platform also provides a 'Remake' feature that lets users check and edit coding blocks to reconstruct content into their own creation. Teaching guides linked to each world can be used as instructional materials for coding classes in schools and educational settings.

Min-seok Shin, Executive Director at Nexon, said, "We hope children can directly play through the stories they encountered in the books on Hello Maple, expanding into experiences where they explore and solve problems on their own." He added, "We will continue to provide participatory learning experiences that make developing computational thinking easy and fun in connection with various content."

'Hello Maple' is a block coding platform based on the 'MapleStory' IP, designed to help users learn basic coding principles. Officially launched in September 2024, it is being utilized in digital education environments through collaborations with schools and educational institutions nationwide.
