SEGA Publishing Korea has released a free update for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds that adds a character and new machine from the Crazy Taxi series, alongside a 60% discount promotion.
SEGA Publishing Korea (CEO Go Saito) officially released "Axel," free collaboration content from the Crazy Taxi series, for the hit racing game Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on August 26, 2026. Through this free update, players can hit the tracks with new racer Axel and his dedicated machine, the Devolada Yellow Jack, while two additional music tracks, "Axel: Character Select" and "Axel: Result," are also included.
In addition, a limited-time online event titled "Crazy Taxi Axel Festa" will take place from August 28, 2026, at 9:00 AM to August 31 at 8:59 AM. The event splits players into three teams to compete under special rules, such as combining placement scores and counting "Touch Dash" activations. Based on accumulated points, players can earn various rewards including exclusive titles, the "Just Charge Kit" gadget, stickers, and horns.
Furthermore, SEGA is running a promotion offering a 60% discount on the Standard Edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on the PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop through September 9. In addition, the free demo version—which allows save data to carry over to the main game—has added the new "Extreme Gear" machine, allowing players to sample machine and gadget customization ahead of time in "Grand Prix" and "Time Trial" modes. The full game supports up to 12 players in online play and 1 to 4 players locally.
