Seongnam City is recruiting volunteers to assist with the on-site operations of the urban game culture festival 'GXG 2026.' Applications close on September 4 at 6:00 p.m. and are being accepted through the 1365 Volunteer Portal.

Applicants must be adults aged 20 or older with an interest in gaming culture. Volunteers will be divided into three groups: Group A on September 10, Group B on September 11, and Group C on September 12. Each group will operate from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Up to 8 hours of volunteer service per day will be recognized, which includes orientation and preliminary safety training. Dinner will be provided on active service days.

The activities will take place around Pangyo Station Plaza in Seongnam City, where volunteers will handle event guidance for GXG 2026. Their main duties will include assisting visitors with program information, directing foot traffic, and managing safety.

GXG 2026 is hosted by Seongnam City and co-organized by the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency and the Game Culture Foundation, taking place around Pangyo Station Plaza on September 11 and 12. On the opening day, September 11, the event will feature an opening ceremony alongside a celebratory performance by hip-hop group Dynamic Duo and the main stage for the game music competition 'The 3rd GXG SOUND TRACK.'

On September 12, the festival will feature the 'GXG Gala Concert,' bringing together Neople's disabled cello ensemble 'Ensemble Heal' and the Contemporary Gugak Orchestra of the National Gugak Center. Prior to the main event, a pre-event titled 'GXG Busking Time' featuring bands composed of game and IT industry workers will be held on Pangyo Content Street on September 10. The volunteer schedule starting on September 10 aligns with this preliminary event. The main festival will be free to attend for all visitors on September 11 and 12.
