On the 23rd, T1 fell to Hanwha Life Esports in their final regular season match of '2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK)' held at Chzzk LoL Park in Jongno, securing 3rd place. The match was fought over 2nd place, which guarantees direct entry to Round 2 of the playoffs, but T1 crumbled in both Games 1 and 2 against Hanwha Life Esports' fast tempo powered by superior firepower.
Attending the post-match press conference, Interim Head Coach Im Jae-hyeon summarized the match, saying, "It was an important match that decided 2nd place, and I think I prepared poorly." He added, "Hanwha Life Esports is a team that favors early skirmishes and does not avoid them, but in Game 2, we opted for a balanced composition looking toward the late game. That was our fatal mistake."
Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, who was also present, added, "I was very disappointed with the performance rather than the result." He continued, "I think Game 1 was in a state where we couldn't lose, so it's very disappointing that we lost. For Game 2, not only was our preparation lacking, but there were also many disappointing aspects in the gameplay itself."
Regarding finishing the regular season in 3rd place, Interim Head Coach Im stated, "Our performance fluctuated heavily. There were many areas where we could have done better, and it was a disappointing season because I couldn't fill those gaps enough." Faker also expressed his disappointment, saying, "My goal was to keep improving, but I wasn't able to achieve that. I personally had many shortcomings as well. Unlike other seasons, I wasn't able to show an improving form."
Finally, Interim Head Coach Im Jae-hyeon and Faker concluded the interview by promising to return with better performance in the playoffs: "We will give a lot of thought to how we can get better, prepare well, and return to the playoffs looking stronger than we did in the regular season."
