Press Release - Nexon Games

Nexon Games Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Yong-hyun) announced on the 21st that it has launched Season 2 of the 'With Young Project,' a corporate social responsibility initiative supporting young carers, in partnership with the Nexon Foundation (Chairman Kim Jung-wook), and donated 100 million won to ChildFund Korea (Chairman Hwang Young-gi).
Young carers refer to children, adolescents, and young adults who look after family members in need of care due to disability, illness, or old age, or who carry the financial responsibility for their household. Last September, Nexon Games launched Season 1 of the 'With Young Project' to support them alongside the Nexon Foundation and ChildFund Korea, donating 100 million won to ChildFund Korea.
In Season 1, customized support covering caregiving, education, health, and housing tailored to individual circumstances was provided to 15 young carers through professional care coordinators. In addition, an employee donation campaign raised an extra 10.28 million won, which was delivered to ChildFund Korea, while various employee-participatory programs were operated, including a winter vacation healing camp featuring hands-on game development activities.
An impact survey conducted on participants following the conclusion of Season 1 confirmed tangible changes. The average daily time spent caring for family members decreased from 5.6 hours to 2.6 hours, a reduction of approximately 53.6%, and the young carers' self-perceived level of care involvement fell from 7.4 to 4.0 points. The burden felt regarding focusing on studies and career paths also decreased from 2.9 to 1.9 points.
Building on the caregiving relief outcomes demonstrated in Season 1, Season 2 of the 'With Young Project' expands its scope so young carers can focus more on their own lives and futures. While continuing support for care burden reduction and living stability for eight returning participants and seven new individuals, the project plans to provide opportunities to explore areas of interest and aptitudes and prepare concretely for academic and career goals. Furthermore, support for education and the purchase of learning materials related to academics and certifications will be significantly strengthened.
Lee Young-ho, head of the ESG Task Force at Nexon Games, said, "We will continuously leverage our strengths as a game company to provide support so that young carers can lighten their caregiving burdens and explore their dreams and career paths."
Choi Yeon-jin, Secretary General of the Nexon Foundation, stated, "Because young carers struggle to adequately prepare for their education and careers while looking after their families, detailed and sustained support tailored to each person's situation is vital. We hope that various collaborative efforts between companies and specialized organizations like the With Young Project will spread further, enabling more young carers to prepare for their futures."
