CD PROJEKT RED has released a new trailer for the anime 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2' and announced that it will air on Netflix on October 20.

'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2' is a 10-episode anime series set in the universe of 'Cyberpunk 2077.' Produced as a collaboration between CD PROJEKT RED and animation studio TRIGGER, the series follows a new cast of characters entangled in their own desperate struggles across Night City. It captures a raw, human story of revenge and redemption, which the new trailer focuses on.

In the series, the lives of Night City's residents are intricately intertwined. 'Weak,' once a legendary edgerunner, is now forced to live without chrome, searching for a purpose in a world that no longer needs him. 'D,' a Nomad, embarks on a path of revenge and closes in on corporate secrets that must never be revealed. The series follows a story of family, obsession, and legacy centered around these two characters.

The official website has revealed four characters: Weak, D, Roman, and Talia. Weak is a veteran edgerunner who was once called "King" at the top of his game, but now lives in the shadow of his former glory. D is a Snake Nation netrunner who uses his exceptional technical skills and an even sharper thirst for revenge to hunt down the killer who wiped out his clan. Roman is a young cinephile chasing real stories in a city where film has been replaced by braindance, shadowing the lives of others like a phantom. Talia was raised in the corporate world but hardened in the grip of Maelstrom, deeply steeped in a violent, chrome-obsessed gang culture. In addition to these four, the official site also features a video showing the silhouette of an unrevealed fifth character.

The series is directed by Kai Ikarashi of TRIGGER, with character designs by Ichigo Kanno.
