SEGA Publishing Korea (CEO Ko Saito, hereafter SEGA) announced on the 17th that its flagship action-adventure game, Sonic Frontiers, has surpassed 5 million units in cumulative global sales. To celebrate the milestone, the company is launching a promotional event offering discounts of up to 75% on major titles.

The 5 million unit milestone for Sonic Frontiers is based on combined physical and digital sales as of August 14, 2026.

The game is set in the 'Starfall Islands,' an unknown region filled with the mysteries of an ancient civilization, where the protagonist engages in high-speed action while freely exploring the islands and battling mysterious enemies. Since its release, the game has expanded its content through continuous large-scale free updates and downloadable content (DLC). It has been widely recognized for its quality, winning awards at major ceremonies including the Award for Excellence in the Annual Works category at the Japan Game Awards 2023 and the PlayStation Partner Awards 2023 Japan Asia.

Furthermore, through regular price adjustments and the expansion of supported platforms, the game continues to attract new users globally and maintains strong sales momentum. To commemorate the 5 million unit milestone, major platforms including the PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop, and Steam are hosting a large-scale SEGA August Featured Titles sale.

Through this special promotion, Sonic Frontiers is available at a discount of up to 65%. Additionally, Sonic X Shadow Generations, which allows players to experience the unique high-speed action of both 'Shadow' and 'Sonic,' is on sale at a 70% discount, while Sonic Racing Cross World, featuring various popular collaboration characters, is offered at a 60% discount, among many other popular titles included in the sale lineup.

In addition, the digital version of Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition, which has been optimized for a smoother and more visually stunning experience on the enhanced hardware of the Nintendo Switch 2, is now available.

This definitive edition includes all three major free updates and free DLC previously released on other platforms, as well as the benefits of the Digital Deluxe version, offering players a comprehensive experience. The physical version of this title is scheduled for official release on September 17, 2026.
