Tokyo Game Show (TGS), which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year since its inception in 1996, has launched a special website and unveiled details for its most ambitious commemorative event to date, including a diverse range of sponsorships and an official ambassador lineup.
The TGS Management Office launched the 30th-anniversary special website today, featuring a history of the event and a gallery of past posters. The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA), the organizer of TGS, will also launch its own 30th-anniversary commemorative website on August 26, featuring the 'CESA Game Proficiency Test,' an online quiz game that explores the culture and history of the Japanese gaming industry. A '30th Anniversary Commemorative Ticket' featuring a solid gold medal will be available for pre-order until Tuesday, September 8, and the first episode of the '30th Anniversary Title Talk Stage,' featuring popular game producers, will air on Friday, September 11.
Inside the venue, a 30-year history exhibition will feature panels showcasing Japan Game Awards winners and key economic indicators from each era. Visitors can receive special commemorative stickers through the '30th Anniversary Message Board' and hashtag events, and view the '30th Anniversary Game Developer Message' exhibition, which features handwritten signatures from famous game creators.
Food options and payment convenience have also been significantly enhanced. The venue's food court will offer '30 Boost Food' items, featuring 30% larger portions or 30-piece sets. Kewpie no Tamago is participating as a food court sponsor, providing free 'Tare de Taberu Tamago' toppings at select food trucks. SB Payment Service has joined as a special sponsor, implementing cashless payment terminals across nearly all food trucks and merchandise areas. Additionally, LY Corporation will serve as the official communication partner, using the LINE platform to facilitate seamless information sharing for attendees.
Spaces for content creators and the official ambassador lineup have also been finalized. The 'TGS Creator Lounge Presented by Twitch,' organized by Twitch and sponsored by global gaming brand Razer, will provide influencers with an enhanced streaming environment. The third lineup of the official ambassador group, 'TGS Boosters,' includes eight members: Hideo Ishiguro, Atsuko Uchida, Kyle, Koko Kawai, Kim Blue, Taki, Rice3_Master, and the TBS morning show character Raffi. They will share the excitement of TGS 2026 with global fans.
Benefits for families and a variety of broadcast programs are also drawing attention. The Family Game Park, located at TKP Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall near Makuhari Messe, will be open free of charge to visitors of junior high school age and younger from Saturday, September 19, to Monday, September 21. TV Game Magazine editor-in-chief Sanapi has been appointed as an official ambassador to introduce family-oriented content such as 'Asobiba!' and 'Manabiba!,' and a 'Family Game Garapon' event will offer prizes for survey participants. Furthermore, the first episode of the official news program 'TGS News Studio,' hosted by Shohei Taguchi with guest Moga Mogami, aired on Monday, August 17, at 7:00 PM to great acclaim from fans.
