Hanwha Life Esports lost 0-2 to Gen.G Esports in their 2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) regular season Round 4 Legend Group match, held at LoL PARK in Jongno on the 13rd. They were unable to overcome the towering presence of 'Chovy' Jung Ji-hun. Following the match, head coach Yoon Sung-young assessed that both his pick-ban strategy and the players' in-game performance had been disappointing.

The following is the full transcript of the press conference with head coach Yoon Sung-young and 'Zeus' Choi Woo-je.

Q. First, could you provide a summary of today's match.

Head Coach Yoon Sung-young = I think we lost primarily because I didn't prepare well enough today. It was a winnable game in-game, but there were many disappointing moments. We will address these issues and prepare for the next match.

'Zeus' = There were opportunities to win both games, but it's a shame we couldn't capitalize on them properly.

Q. What do you think was the cause of today's loss?

Head Coach Yoon Sung-young = The opponent anticipated the scenarios we practiced and prepared thoroughly. I think my pick-ban strategy and our responses were quite lacking in that regard.

'Zeus' = In Game 1, there were definitely situations where we had the initiative and a gold lead, enough to snowball the game. However, we used our turns very inefficiently. The most painful part was letting the opponent scale up more effectively than us.

Q. Many say the team hasn't found its form since winning the MSI.

Head Coach Yoon Sung-young = I agree that our team is currently going through a slump. However, our players are highly experienced and talented. I believe we can sufficiently improve our performance in the remaining time. We will prepare well for the next match and make sure to win.

Q. There are only three matches left in the regular season. You desperately need wins to compete at the top; how do you plan to handle this?

Head Coach Yoon Sung-young = First, I admit I made many mistakes in the pick-ban phase today. In terms of in-game macro, we are making more minor errors and getting caught out unnecessarily compared to when we were at our best. I will provide feedback to the players to ensure we play more solidly and minimize mistakes.

'Zeus' = During Round 3, our team performance and individual form were quite low. However, after winning against T1 and playing today's match against Gen.G, I think my individual form has improved significantly. The only thing missing is the 'smart turn management' we showed when we were at our peak. If we fix that, we can become strong again.

Q. Early in the season, your playstyle centered around 'Kanavi' was quite sharp, but recently it feels like opponents have read and countered this pattern.

Head Coach Yoon Sung-young = I think that's natural, as other LCK teams are also improving and preparing thoroughly. It is time for us to have a deep discussion about our play direction following our championship win. We need to coordinate well and evolve into a team that can better execute the smart macro 'Zeus' mentioned.

Q. Lastly, please share a word with the fans to conclude the interview.

Head Coach Yoon Sung-young = I apologize to the fans for our poor performance in Rounds 3 and 4. We still have three matches left, so we will prepare meticulously and aim for good results.

'Zeus' = I am very disappointed with my individual performance today. Actually, my ear condition had been poor for a few days, so I received an injection right before the match, which left me feeling a bit dizzy. I regret that my lack of condition management affected my performance, and I will prepare thoroughly to show a better side of myself starting from the next match.
