Bolstered by the rapid revenue growth of the MapleStory franchise and the global success of its new title, ARC Raiders, Nexon significantly outperformed its Q2 2026 projections, achieving record-high cumulative results for the first half of the year.
Nexon (NEXON Co., Ltd., CEO Lee Jung-hun) announced its consolidated financial results for the second quarter and the first half of 2026 via the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market on the 13rd, reporting outstanding performance for the second consecutive quarter. The company significantly exceeded market expectations for Q2 revenue, operating profit, and net income, setting a new all-time high for cumulative revenue in the first half of 2026.
This record-breaking performance was driven by the overwhelming revenue growth of the MapleStory franchise and the successful global market entry of the new title, ARC Raiders. Nexon’s total Q2 revenue from the MapleStory IP surged 63% year-over-year, marking a quarterly record. The original PC version of MapleStory saw a 7% revenue increase in both domestic and Western markets, thanks to the highly successful 'Summer Update' launched in June.
The mobile and platform business segments also showed impressive results. The mobile game MapleStory M (MapleStory Grow) generated massive revenue in key overseas markets, including North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia, following its 'half-year anniversary major update' in late April. Additionally, the sandbox creation platform MapleStory Worlds saw its Q2 revenue skyrocket by 123% year-over-year, fueled by a surge in popularity in South Korea and Taiwan.
The explosive sales of ARC Raiders, which debuted last October, were a major driver of overall performance. With 16.3 million units sold globally within nine months of its official release, the game has firmly established itself as Nexon’s next-generation blockbuster in a global PC and console market previously dominated by a few major franchises. Thanks to the strong performance of these core titles, Nexon’s cumulative overseas revenue for the first half of the year grew 44% year-over-year, while PC and console revenue jumped 27%, both reaching record highs for a half-year period.
Nexon plans to further maximize its growth momentum in the second half of the year by launching a series of self-developed and published titles across diverse genres. The mobile version of DAVE THE DIVER, which proved its success in China earlier this year, will expand its service to the global market, including South Korea, in September. In the fourth quarter, the company will officially launch Mabinogi Mobile in Japan and will soon announce the global service regions for the mobile idle RPG Dungeon & Fighter Grow. Furthermore, the publishing titles Overgeared and the fantasy world RPG Azure Promilia are in the final stages of preparation for release within the year.
To sustain long-term growth, Nexon also plans to sequentially introduce a variety of new titles to global users, including the 2D action RPG Dungeon & Fighter Classic, the action RPG Vindictus: Defying Fate, and the multiplayer survival game LAST PARADISE. Meanwhile, to fulfill its commitment to active shareholder returns, Nexon will issue a massive special dividend of ¥324 billion (approximately ₩3 trillion) at the end of September.
Nexon Japan CEO Lee Jung-hun stated, "We recorded solid results in the second quarter thanks to the strong growth of the MapleStory franchise and the steady contribution of ARC Raiders. Starting in the second half, we will diversify our pipeline with new titles across various genres and the expansion of steady-selling IPs, while strengthening our growth engines through major updates for our key titles."
