On the 13rd, Kakao Games (co-CEOs Kim Tae-hwan, Lee Si-woo) announced the release of the first promotional video for 'Dokkaebi World,' a new 2.5D MMORPG currently under development by Supercat (CEO Kim Won-bae), and confirmed that pre-registration will begin on the 20th.
The newly released video features actor Park Ji-hoon, who has been selected as the official brand ambassador for 'Dokkaebi World.' In the video, Park captures the game's world-building by donning traditional Korean Taoist attire and unfurling a fan. The scene where a medieval knight's armor shatters into pixel art intuitively highlights the game's core features: its Korean-inspired themes and pixel graphics.
'Dokkaebi World' is a 2.5D MMORPG being developed with a unique world-view rooted in Korean motifs and distinctive pixel graphics. It aims to offer a differentiated gameplay experience from existing MMORPGs through a highly flexible skill deck-building system and clan-based cooperative content.
Meanwhile, 'Dokkaebi World' is based on the Naver web novel 'Myeolgwi Sudojeon,' and a webtoon of the same name is currently being serialized on Naver Webtoon. 'Myeolgwi Sudojeon' has garnered significant attention from users, reaching No. 1 on the trending list shortly after its debut and consistently ranking within the top 10 for new releases.
'Dokkaebi World,' scheduled for official release in October, will open for pre-registration on August 20. Starting with pre-registration, Kakao Games plans to unveil key content and service plans at a showcase in September, and will sequentially release game information through various marketing content and events leading up to the official launch.
