Yoon 'LowHigh' Sun-woong of Kiwoom DRX secured a $130k prize after finishing as the runner-up in the Tekken 8 category at the 2026 Esports World Cup (EWC), held in Paris, France, with a total prize pool of $75 million.

In the 2026 EWC Tekken 8 finals, which concluded in Paris, Yoon engaged in a fierce battle against Pakistan's M ZUBAIR but ultimately placed second, marking a valuable achievement as a runner-up for the second year in a row. Previously, Yoon defeated last year's champion, Ulsan (Lim Soo-hoon), in the quarterfinals and overcame the dark horse Yagami from Australia in the semifinals to secure his spot in the finals. With this runner-up finish, Yoon earned $130k (approximately ₩188.5 million) and contributed 750 club points to his team.

The EWC, which launched in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2024, moved its host city to Paris, France, for the first time this year with the goal of penetrating the European market and strengthening global brand scalability. The tournament boasted a record-breaking total prize pool of $75 million (approximately ₩110 billion), with over 2000 athletes and more than 200 clubs from over 100 countries competing across 24 different game titles.

Beyond Tekken 8, the Kiwoom DRX squad competed in a total of three titles, including Street Fighter 6 and PUBG Mobile, achieving significant results. In the Street Fighter 6 category, Shin 'Leshar' Mun-seop tied for 5th place, earning 200 club points, while the PUBG Mobile team successfully advanced to the main stage and is preparing to climb the rankings. Building on their 2026 EWC performance, Kiwoom DRX plans to solidify its global competitiveness across various esports titles and focus on expanding its worldwide fan base.
