KRAFTON is transforming its offline space, PUBG Seongsu, into a unique urban summer retreat, featuring a special event starting August 11 that combines diverse exhibitions with lifestyle experiences inspired by the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds intellectual property.
KRAFTON (CEO Kim Chang-han) will officially launch 'PUBG SEONGSU Presents BLUE ZONE,' a summer-themed special event, on August 11 at its offline brand space, PUBG Seongsu.
This project is an experiential event that reimagines the 'Blue Zone'—the boundary in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds that forces players to survive—as a cool 'Safe zone' where visitors can take a break from the sweltering city heat. The facility will be transformed into a summer resort, offering a unique experience for both gamers and the general public through various exhibitions, lifestyle programs, and collaborations with creators.
A highlight of the event is an exhibition featuring international artists from the global art project THE JAUNT, in collaboration with the Busan-based surfing cultural space Union Gallery. Artists inspired by surfing and subculture, such as Travis Weller and Stevie Shao, will conduct live mural painting on-site. The completed works will be on display at the Survivor Hall on the first floor of PUBG Seongsu from August 11 to August 16.
Additionally, a brand zone will be operated in partnership with Matt & Mel, an eco-friendly art fabric lifestyle brand. A 'Blue Zone' pattern, designed by incorporating the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds IP, will be applied to dome tents and triangular tarps, while sunbeds, parasols, and sand will be set up to perfectly recreate a beach atmosphere in the heart of the city.
A variety of creator collaboration programs will also welcome visitors. On August 15, a 'Frying Pan Run' will be held, where running influencers will jog through the Seongsu-dong area in a route shaped like the iconic PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds melee weapon. After the run, a unique after-party featuring a 'cold plunge'—a combination of sauna and cold-water immersion—will add to the refreshing fun.
Furthermore, content featuring creators from diverse fields such as music, dance, and DJing will be available, allowing visitors to enjoy a unique summer culture. A heat relief shelter will also be open to local residents and visitors throughout the event. To enhance visitor comfort, the space will feature cooling facilities such as ice chilling zones, shade canopies, and dome tents, along with complimentary drinking water.
The 'PUBG Seongsu Summer School,' a seasonal lifestyle class, will run for an extended period until August 31. PUBG Seongsu plans to continue offering free one-day classes tailored to each season, ensuring that both PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds fans and the general public can enjoy a wide range of cultural content.
A representative from PUBG Seongsu stated, "This 'Blue Zone' event reinterprets a symbol of tension and threat from the game into a summer getaway where people can take a break in the city. We hope that both PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds fans and citizens visiting Seongsu will come to experience the exhibitions, music, and lifestyle content at PUBG Seongsu." Detailed information regarding the program and participating artists will be announced sequentially through official social media channels.
