Webzen (CEO Kim Tae-young) is signaling a fresh start for its PC MMORPG 'R2 (Reign of Revolution)' with a new update title.

On Thursday the 16th, R2 will roll out its major second-half update, 'The New Journey Part 1 - Departure.' Centered on the theme of a new journey, the update introduces new systems and growth elements, alongside various content improvements to provide a fresh experience.

First, the 'Adventure Log System' is being added. This system allows players to earn rewards by recording monster eliminations and item acquisitions. By meeting specific conditions—such as defeating monsters or registering items—players can gain various items and stat-boosting effects, with additional rewards granted based on the total completion rate of the Adventure Log.

Changes are also coming to Trait Enhancement Skills, which strengthen class-specific skills. The additional activation effects for these skills have been buffed, and new Trait Enhancement Skills have been added to each class' 'Crush' skill. These new skills can be obtained by collecting five of each type of 'Emblem' (a craftable item). Furthermore, if the total equipment enhancement level reaches 'Legend' or higher, players can unlock special effects for their Trait Enhancement Skills. Alongside these changes, various content improvements, including updates to the mission system, have been implemented to create a more convenient gameplay environment.

Update-commemorative events are also underway. Players who complete 30 or more Adventure Logs will receive an EXP Boost Rune and two types of Special Materials. Additionally, various rewards will be distributed based on the number of weekly points earned through R2 missions.

Other events include gameplay support events, quiz events, and seasonal events such as 'July Luck' and event reward chests, where players can earn a variety of items. Detailed information regarding the R2 major update and its associated events can be found on the official website.
