Gamescom, the world's largest gaming event, announced on the 1st that tickets for its official pre-show, Opening Night Live (ONL), sold out immediately upon release this year, proving the event's immense popularity.
Gamescom ONL is the world's largest game showcase, where major updates and release information for global AAA titles and blockbusters are unveiled. It is considered the most anticipated event for gaming fans worldwide, offering the first look at new trailers and gameplay demos for upcoming titles, as well as appearances by world-renowned developers who take the stage to discuss new projects, collaborations, and behind-the-scenes development stories.
This year, with a string of announcements confirming the participation of major game companies such as Astragon, Capcom, Nintendo, Team17, Ubisoft, Xbox, and KRAFTON, tickets for the live event sold out even faster than in previous years.
Last year, ONL was broadcast live across more than 3700 channels worldwide. It demonstrated its massive reach by recording a peak of 2.1 million concurrent viewers and exceeding 91.5 million cumulative VOD views.
Last year's ONL featured a variety of major updates, including Hollow Knight: Silksong, SILENT HILL f, Black Myth: Wukong, and Fallout Season 2. The event also drew significant attention when Monster Hunter's Ryozo Tsujimoto and Final Fantasy's Naoki Yoshida took the stage to announce their collaboration.
ONL will begin on August 25 at 8:00 PM (CET; 3:00 AM on the 26th, KST) and will be streamed live via YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), Steam, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitch.
