Gamescom, the world's largest gaming exhibition, announced on the 1st that tickets for its official pre-show event, Opening Night Live (ONL), sold out immediately upon release this year, proving the event's immense popularity.
Gamescom ONL is the world's largest game showcase, where major updates and release information for global AAA titles and blockbusters are unveiled. It is considered the most anticipated event for gaming fans worldwide, offering the first look at new trailers and gameplay demos for upcoming titles, as well as appearances by world-renowned developers who share behind-the-scenes stories about their new projects and collaborations.
This year, tickets for the live event sold out faster than in previous years, following a series of announcements confirming the participation of major game companies including Astragon, Capcom, Nintendo, Team17, Ubisoft, Xbox, and KRAFTON.
Last year, ONL was broadcast live across more than 3700 channels worldwide. It demonstrated its massive reach by recording a peak of 2.1 million concurrent live viewers and over 91.5 million cumulative VOD views.
Last year's ONL featured a variety of major updates, including news on Hollow Knight: Silksong, SILENT HILL f, Black Myth: Wukong, and Fallout Season 2. The event also captured significant attention when Monster Hunter producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and Final Fantasy producer Naoki Yoshida took the stage to announce their collaboration.
ONL will begin on August 25 at 8:00 PM CET (August 26 at 3:00 AM KST) and will be streamed live via YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), Steam, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitch.
