On the 27th, the 2026 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) regular season Round 2 match between Gen.G Esports and Hanwha Life Esports took place at LoL PARK in Jongno. Gen.G defeated Hanwha Life 2-1, moving up to second place and narrowing the gap with first-place Hanwha Life to just one win.

Hanwha Life took the first set after a fierce battle. Gen.G led the early and mid-game, skillfully dodging Hanwha Life's setups to shift the momentum in their favor. They won the first teamfight with excellent coordination and secured three Dragons. Although 'Ruler' Park Jae-hyuk's Jhin was caught by 'Delight' Yoo Hwan-joong's Bard, 'Canyon' Kim Geon-bu's Naafiri stole the Baron to maintain their advantage.

However, Hanwha Life struck back. They secured four unanswered kills in front of the Dragon Soul, successfully halting Gen.G's momentum. The game returned to a stalemate, with both teams trading blows in a tense standoff. The final mid teamfight appeared to end in a 1-1 trade, but Naafiri was spotted by a ward while recalling and was picked off. Empowered by the Baron Buff, Hanwha Life pushed forward to destroy the Nexus.

Gen.G bounced back in the second set. Despite Hanwha Life getting off to a strong start with multiple kills in the bottom lane, 'Chovy' Jung Ji-hun's Ahri roamed the map to set the stage for a comeback. During the third Dragon teamfight, Chovy landed a Charm on 'Zeus' Choi Woo-je's Rumble, followed by another on 'Zeka' Kim Geon-woo's Ryze, leading Gen.G to a decisive victory. After securing three kills through an ambush while Ahri was briefly caught out, Gen.G pushed into the enemy base, closing out the set with a Quadra Kill from the respawned Ahri.

In the deciding third set, the teams traded 2-2 in an early top-side skirmish. However, Gen.G's duo secured a clean double kill in a 2v2 bottom lane fight. Hanwha Life attempted to recover by rotating their duo to the top lane, but they suffered a crushing defeat in a numbers-disadvantaged fight, widening the gap further. Meanwhile, 'Ruler's' Sivir farmed freely in the bottom lane, and by the 14-minute mark, the gold lead had ballooned to over 5k.

While Hanwha Life focused on the bottom lane, Gen.G cleanly picked off 'Zeka's' Orianna in the mid lane. They then collapsed on Hanwha Life at the Dragon pit, stealing the objective and securing a clean Ace to effectively seal the game. The reward was the Baron. Gen.G finished the third set with another Ace, highlighted by a Quadra Kill from Sivir, to claim the series victory.
