The schedule for the second Closed Beta Test (CBT) of 'Horizon Hunters Gathering,' currently in development by Guerrilla Games, has been revealed.
'Horizon Hunters Gathering' is a spin-off title that utilizes the IP of the Horizon series, which established Guerrilla Games' current reputation. As a spin-off, the game differs from the original series in many ways. The most significant difference is the visual style; unlike the original Horizon series, which boasted photorealistic graphics, 'Horizon Hunters Gathering' features a cartoon-style aesthetic, offering a much more casual feel.
The game's overall direction also differs. While the original was a traditional adventure focused on Aloy uncovering the world's secrets and confronting threats, 'Horizon Hunters Gathering' focuses more on session-based, 3-player cooperative action.
Unlike the original, which featured Aloy as the sole protagonist, 'Horizon Hunters Gathering' includes multiple hunters, or playable characters. Players choose one of these hunters, each with unique weapons and skills, to form a team of up to three. They must then become humanity's last line of defense, battling deadly machines while avoiding a shrinking magnetic field.
Another key feature of the game is its roguelike system. Beyond permanent progression, players can enhance their abilities after each battle, which is expected to provide a fresh sense of growth in every session.
'Horizon Hunters Gathering,' which held its first CBT from February 27 to March 1, is currently recruiting testers for its second CBT. The second test will run from May 22 to 25 on PC (Steam) and PS5. Applications can be submitted through the PlayStation Beta program registration, and selected testers will receive a friend invitation code to invite others to the test.
Further details regarding the second CBT can be found in the announcements on the 'Horizon Hunters Gathering' Steam store page.
