Phoenix1 takes third place in NA LCS, their best achievement

Phoenix1 managed to take third place on their second split into NA LCS.

On April 22nd (PDT) in Vancouver, Canada; FlyQuest and Pheonix1 faced off in the 3rd place decider match of 2017 NA LCS Spring Split Playoff. Phoenix1 was able to take third place in the playoffs after a close match against FlyQuest.

The first set was given to Phoenix1. Phoenix1 was able to press on the advantage that they gained during the early game skirmish by turning around FlyQuest's top lane gank. Phoenix1 cemented that advantage by winning two teamfights that allowed them to get the Baron Nashor. The game soon ended as Phoenix1 marched into FlyQuest's base with the Baron buff.

The second set was given to FlyQuest. The decisive play was made when Hai's Talon managed to stop P1 from destroying the top inner turret while allowing FlyQuest to destroy P1's bottom inhibitor turret. FlyQuest effectively ended the game when they killed Ryu's Syndra, took Baron Nashor and destroyed two inhibitors at once. The game ended with Altec's Kog'Maw scoring a Pentakill.

FlyQuest picked up the pace by winning the third set. The game was relatively quiet in terms of kills, but FlyQuest had a complete control over objectives. FlyQuest did not let go of their control over the game even once. When FlyQuest had over 9K gold advantage, they quickly demolished P1's base soon enough.

It was match point for FlyQuest, but Phoenix1 fought back. Soon after the match began, Ryu's Syndra managed to get two consecutive kills off Hai's Ekko with help from Inori's Elise. P1 did not hesitate to snowball that advantage as the entire P1 closed down on FlyQuest's bot lane duo and added two more kills. After a brief struggle, Phoenix1 ended the game with an overwhelming gold lead.

The final set concluded with P1's victory. P1 had a good start by downing Hai's Kassadin and Moon's Kha'Zix. When zig's Kled fended off P1's top lane gank by scoring a double kill against Balls' Gragas and Moon's Kha'Zix, the game was almost locked into a win for P1. P1 had some trouble while trying to take down FlyQuest's top inhibitor, but they finished the match by destroying all three inhibitors in FlyQuest's base.
