The #102 ranked Bulgarian Counter-Strike team VOYVODA eliminated #20 ranked Cloud9 from the Dreamhack Masters Spring Qualifier on Sunday. VOYVODA will advance to the main bracket of the Dream Hack Masters Spring 2021 which starts on April 29th.

Sunday's upset loss was the latest in a series of disappointing results for Cloud9. Over the past few months, they were eliminated in double-octa finals of the Intel Extreme Masters XC - World Championship by OG in February, and they dropped in the quarterfinals of the cs_summit 7 to Fnatic in January.

“Beyond heartbreaking,” said Cloud9's Team Manager HenryG on Twitter following Sunday’s loss. “Fair play to VOYVODA, they played really well and their stars peaked. We're still losing too many unacceptable rounds and will continue the grind to plug those holes. You have my word on that.”

There was a lot of pushback in the comments under HenryG's post, with many fans expressing their frustrations with the team's poor performances. Some fans questioned HengryG’s decisions in building the roster, while others questioned why Cloud9 spent large amounts of money to sign players who lose to lower-ranked teams like VOYVODA.

In a follow-up Tweet, HenryG defended his roster decisions, saying that he designed the roster for LAN players and not online play.

Regardless of why the team the underperforming, it's clear that fans expect more from Cloud9's Counter-Strike roster.
