T1 head coach Kim Jeong-soo reportedly resigned from his position

According to Sports Seoul, T1’s head coach, Kim Jeong-soo has decided to resign. It is said that his decision to resign was due to the result of the summer split and failing to reach the 2020 World Championship. However, the terms about terminating the contract or final agreements haven’t yet been made. On this matter, T1 said, “We can’t discuss this officially yet”.

T1 signed Kim Jeong-soo prior to this year through 2022. The team won the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Spring Split, but they failed to reach Worlds 2020 by ending in 5th place for the summer split and being eliminated at the finals of the Regional Qualifiers. Kim had made it to four consecutive World Championships before T1, starting from 2016 in Samsung Galaxy, 2017 in Longzhu gaming, 2018 in Invictus Gaming, and 2019 in DAMWON Gaming.

On this matter, Kim said, "I'm in Busan as the team gave me a vacation. I'm very frustrated that this came up. There hasn't been anything discussed with the team yet."
