Evil Geniuses has eliminated 100 Thieves from the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Summer Playoffs in a clean sweep. After losing its first post-season series 3-2 to FlyQuest, EG has kept its championship hopes alive.

EG entered the LCS Summer Playoffs as the 6th seed, using mid laner Greyson "Goldenglue" Gilmer and top laner Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon in respective favor of Daniele "Jiizuke" di Mauro and Colin "Kumo" Zhao since signing Goldenglue midway through the Summer Split.

After going down 2-0 to 3rd seed FlyQuest in the first round of the post-season, Evil Geniuses battled back to tie the series at 2-2, but failed to win game 5. The result seemed to not affect the team against 7th seed 100 Thieves, who has now had its season ended due to the only potential qualification for the 2020 World Championship being through the LCS Summer Playoffs for North American teams.

Evil Geniuses will move on to the next section of the lower bracket in the 2020 LCS Summer Playoffs and will face off against the loser of Cloud9 and FlyQuest, who play next weekend. On the other side of the bracket, TSM, who swept Dignitas out of the post-season the day prior, will face off against the loser of Golden Guardians and Team Liquid.

Despite the 3-0 against 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses' play was far from convincing should it plan to exceed its top 3 finish in the 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs. A substitution or two of its other LCS-caliber players may give the team a unique edge this post-season, but the utilization of such has yet to be seen.
