ESPN Esports to host 'ESPN Esports VALORANT Invitational' starting Monday, April 20

On Monday, April 20, ESPN Esports will host the 'ESPN Esports VALORANT Invitational.' The tournament will feature esports professionals of all types from various communities in an eight-team, three-day clash that will be sponsored by HyperX and streamed exclusively on ESPN Esports' Twitch channel.

 

The eight teams competing in the ESPN Esports VALORANT Invitational come from seven different corners of the esports world. The Invitational will have a team of professionals for the following esports: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Fortnite, League of Legends, PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS, Rainbow Six: Siege, Apex Legends, and Overwatch. The eight team will be made entirely of Riot Games developers working on VALORANT. 

 

 

 

 ESPN Esports will make a team-wide affair out of the event as well, with Reporter Jacob Wolf coming out of casting retirement for the first time in nearly five years. Wolf will be joined by colleague Arda Ocal, ESPN Esports' gaming Anchor/Host. St. Clair College Esports Broadcasting Professor and freelance VALORANT commentator David "SIMO" Rabinovitch and Kevin Knocke, CCO of Rogue owner ReKTGlobal, will round out the cast for the tournament.

 

The rosters for each team in the ESPN Esports VALORANT invitational has yet to be revealed, but this report will be updated with any competitors announced before the start of the event on Monday, April 20 at 12:30pm PT.
