Unity (NYSE: U), the world's leading game engine, announced its plans for 'Unity 7'—a next-generation production platform for developing, deploying, and growing games—at the global developer conference 'Unite Seoul 2026,' held at COEX in Samseong-dong on the 21st.

The way games are made has evolved, ushering in an era where creators, teams, and coding agents collaborate side-by-side throughout the entire production process. Unity 7 is an open collaboration platform designed for this environment, enabling developers, artists, producers, and coding agents to work together across the entire development lifecycle.
Unity 7 integrates tightly with the AI tools developers already use, helping them turn ideas into playable games faster than ever. It also empowers teams of all sizes to build, monetize, and grow their games.
Most importantly, Unity 7 is designed to allow for a transition from Unity 6 without the need for a traditional upgrade process. There will be no need to rebuild projects or learn new languages, and the transition is designed to ensure that existing work remains intact.

Unity 7 is built on five core pillars.
■ Faster Production: Built on a modernized core utilizing CoreCLR, Unity 7 accelerates every aspect of the development pipeline. Developers can maintain their creative flow with near-instant Play Mode, domain reloads that apply only to changed code, and shader builds that are up to 90% faster.
■ Open Collaboration Ecosystem: Unity 7 opens the production process to the entire team. With new CLI and public APIs, artists, producers, and developers can validate assets and deploy builds from their own tools without needing full editor access. A free-to-use MCP allows coding agents to connect directly with Unity.
■ Breakthrough Graphics: New rendering technology will deliver richer, more realistic lighting and visual detail across all platforms. This includes real-time global illumination via Surface Cache GI, with AI-assisted graphics optimization that scales from high-end PCs to mobile devices.
■ Smarter Growth and Monetization: 'Unity Vector,' the AI platform powering Unity Ads, helps connect the right games with the right players to reach a broader audience. Additionally, native direct-to-consumer (D2C) in-app purchases (IAP), no-code web shops, and integrated catalogs allow purchase data to be sent directly to Vector, helping developers acquire players, monetize more flexibly, and grow more efficiently.
■ Compatibility: Unity 7 inherits the architecture of Unity 6. There is no need to rebuild projects during the upgrade process, allowing all existing projects, skills, and code to transition seamlessly to the next-generation version.
