WE Mystic: "During the next game, I personally asked the team to ban Singed"

The series between 'Cloud9' and 'Team WE' once again proved just how competitive this year's  League of Legends World Championship tournament is. Many predictions made by fans and analysts alike were proven false for all the matches played during the quarterfinals. Although the only "real" upset was SSG completely dominating LZ, the teams who were considered "easy" wins, didn't go down without giving the other teams the fight of their lives.

Although both WE and C9 came into the tournament through the Play-In Stage as the 3rd seed in their respective region, the weight that the two teams carried were very different. C9's advancement was seen as the "last chance" while WE's advancement was seen as "only natural". But as the game commenced, C9 stripped WE of their breathing room and pushed them beyond the expectations. C9 definitely deserved the title, "NA's Last Hope".

The series that was expected to be a 3-0 in favor of the home-team WE, ended up being an intense match that carried on to a game 5. It was a very close match, and it could've been anyone's game... but in the end, WE secured the final game of the series to lock in their spot in the semifinals.

After the match, The ADC for WE, Mystic, was invited by OGN for an interview.

You've finally reached the semifinals after a tough fight. How do you feel?

We might've won, but I was unhappy with my performance. It would've been so much better if we had won because of me...

Because the tournament is being held in China, there are a lot of fans rooting for you. It could give you the strength to play better, but at the same time, it could pressure you. What're your opinions?

It's better to have people cheering for you than having none. I was actually really worried about losing because of the crowd cheering for us.

You played Kog'Maw four times. Why are you guys opting into it so often?

Kog'Maw is strong, and it's also one of my personal favorites. For playing against Caitlyn during the laning phase, I think Kog'Maw is better than Tristana.

C9 pulled out a surprise Singed pick.

We really didn't expect that pick. Singed is pretty weak against Cho'Gath, so we completely had him out of the picture and paid the price because of it. During the next game, I personally asked the team to ban Singed.

What did the coach tell you before game 5?

"We can win. Let's play confidently."

In the semifinals, you'll be facing against Ruler and CoreJJ. How do you rate them?

I watched their series when they played against LZ... and won with a score of 3-0. SSG's botlane seemed unshakable that series. I think they will play well.

Any final words?

I underperformed today. During the semis, I'll make sure to show much better performance. Thank you for cheering for us.
