"This is so upsetting to me": Asmongold reacts to Blizzard's treatment of breastfeeding employees

The gaming community was immediately shocked and disturbed by recent allegations against Activision Blizzard that claimed breastfeeding employees had breast milk stolen and had to use unsanitary equipment.

One of those shocked and disturbed gamers was Asmongold, the top World of Warcraft streamer on Twitch. After reading the recent reports about the stolen breast milk and stained, dirty tables in the nursing area, Asmongold called the situation "upsetting."

"I can't even read this. It's so ridiculous. I don't want to see this. This is so upsetting to me. There are some individuals that work at this company that make me feel uncomfortable," Asmongold said.

Over the years, Asmongold said he has grown a thick skin and is not often affected by things he has read. But the situation at Blizzard has become more and more upsetting to the streamer. While breast feeding is "outside of his area of expertise," Asmongold still empathized with the female employees who went through these things at the Blizzard office.

"I don't want to see this on my screen anymore," Asmongold said after reading about the stolen breast milk.

Asmongold responds to Pokimane telling streamers to stop playing Blizzard games

Asmongold has been very vocal about his disdain of Blizzard's office practices ever since the lawsuit but has continued to play World of Warcraft, although he has moved to other games as well due to some in-game changes he doesn't agree with.

But Imane "Pokimane" Anys recently said that well-off streamers shouldn't play Blizzard games at all after the gender discrimination allegations surfaced. She herself has stopped playing Blizzard games since last summer, but Asmongold found her statement that others should follow suit  to be "pandering."

"It's always hard to draw a line of what you should and shouldn't support and why you should and shouldn't support something," Asmongold said. "In my opinion, I think that it's just a completely moot point because people are going to do w whatever is beneficial to them. Any expectation otherwise is just stupid... It's just pandering. That's all there is to it," Asmongold told his followers when asked about Pokimane's statement.

Asmongold said that other people's opinions shouldn't determine what you decide to play, even if they are "influencers." He said that people should spend money on what they feel like spending money on and you "aren't accountable" for what other people spend money on.

In her initial statement, Pokimane also noted that streamers that decide to keep playing Blizzard titles should continue to be outspoken against the company, which Asmongold has been. Asmongold hasn't just been loud about his criticism about Blizzard's sexist workplace but has said things directly to the developer.
