Cloud9 reportedly round up 2022 roster with Summit & Isles, Fudge roleswaps to midlane

According to a report by Travis Gafford, Cloud9 have decided on their starting lineup for the 2022 LCS Spring Split. Gafford's video reports that Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen and Robert "Blaber" Huang will remain as C9's AD Carry and jungle respectively, while Ibrahim "Fudge"  Allami will roleswap to mid lane to cover for the recently released Luka "Perkz" Perkovic. Park "Summit" Woo-tae and Jonah "Isles" Rosario will fill top lane and support, respectively.

The move is not set in stone. Gafford states. “We will see how things go after free agency opens and people can sign, cause it’s kind of a weird offseason. We might see some last-minute movement, but as of now, that seems to be what C9 will be running next year. I’m very confident based on the number of sources that have been telling me this.”

The announcement comes after C9’s quarterfinal exit from the 2021 League of Legends World Championship. Though it was the best performance by an LCS team, it did not prevent star mid laner Perkz from leaving in favor of a return to the LEC with Team Vitality. Although reports stated that Fnatic mid-laner Yasin "Nisqy" Dinçer was originally being pursued by C9, a recent clip on Nisqy’s stream has him stating it is highly unlikely he will be competing next split

Summit has been a veteran in Korean League of Legends for more than a decade. Last playing for Liiv SANDBOX, he has placed third in the Korean Regional Finals, and won the IeSF 9th Esports World Championship. Before competing with Cloud9 Academy this past year, Isles was one of the most accomplished support players in Oceanic history — winning two iterations of the Oceanic Pro League, and representing the region at Worlds 2020.
