On the second day of the 'PUBG Nations Cup (PNC) 2026' Grand Finals held at Jangchung Arena in Seoul on the 27th, South Korea vaulted into the top tier after securing two 'chickens' (wins) in a single day. Brazil had been dominating the event, but South Korea eliminated them directly in the final 10th match and took the win, climbing to 2nd place overall. The gap with leader Brazil has narrowed to 20 points.
Match 6 took place on Taego. South Korea started smoothly, finishing 4th with 6 kills. After joining forces to eliminate Denmark and securing several kills, they also handled Germany's last remaining player, 'Justus.' However, they lost 'Heather' and 'Gyumin' to a fierce northward push by China, which was bolstered by abundant supplies, and were eventually wiped out following an attack from Finland. In the final showdown between Finland and China, Finland emerged victorious thanks to the UK's 'Bard' catching China off guard. 2nd-place China managed to rack up an impressive 13 kills.
In the seventh match on Erangel, South Korea faced a disappointing result. An early head-on collision with Indonesia led to an 'annihilation match,' resulting in a 2-for-3 trade. Although the lone survivor 'Gyumin' added one kill with a lead shot, he was eventually eliminated as the zone closed in while he was critically low on supplies. Brazil, the tournament leader, scored heavily by recording 10 kills and a 3rd-place finish through 'BLMT's' aggressive defensive play, while a neutral team took the 13-kill win.
However, Brazil was eliminated early in Match 8 on Rondo, giving the top teams a chance to close the gap. A chaotic battle unfolded as multiple teams converged in the northeast. South Korea, positioned in the south, maintained their strength relatively easily and benefited from favorable zone luck. They also finished a skirmish with Thailand without losing any players. Although they failed to secure many additional kills in the final four due to some questionable decision-making despite their overwhelming numerical advantage, they still managed to secure the win with 4 kills.
Match 9 was held on Miramar. During the Phase 5 rotation, South Korea lost a position battle against Germany and the US, resulting in a 8th-place finish with 3 kills. In the final four-way showdown between Denmark (4 players), the Philippines (4 players), Thailand (3 players), and Germany (2 players), Denmark held a clear advantage in both numbers and positioning. The Philippines, needing a turnaround, played too aggressively and lost their strength; Denmark capitalized on the opening to easily claim the win, jumping to 4th place in the overall standings.
The final 10th match of Day 2 took place on Taego. The first zone formed in the bottom right of the map. After traveling a long distance from Go-deok, South Korea took advantage of a fight between Indonesia and the UK to secure a position on the ridge to the right of Oh-hyang, successfully pushing into the central building with a bold charge. Amidst the gunfire echoing throughout Oh-hyang, they advanced quietly but surely. After eliminating their biggest rival, Brazil, South Korea won the final zone battle in the smoke to emerge as the ultimate victors.
