On the 8th, Kwangdong Freecs DRX lost 0-2 to Gen.G in the DRX Homefront match held at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, Vietnam.

In the post-match interview, head coach 'Joker' Cho Jae-eup said, "It is disappointing that we couldn't put on a better performance in our first match here in Vietnam. We will work hard to address our issues before the next match so we can show a better side of ourselves. We wanted to engage in aggressive skirmishes and fight on our terms, but we couldn't execute that. Also, the passion here is incredible. I really wanted to repay the fans with a win, and I am truly sorry and disappointed that we couldn't."
'Willer' Kim Jeong-hyeon expressed his frustration, saying, "We received so much support from the Vietnamese fans here in Hanoi, and I feel sorry and upset that our performance didn't live up to that support."
When asked what was most disappointing about today's match, coach Cho assessed, "There were areas where we could have played more aggressively, but we failed to do so, which led to the loss." 'Willer' added, "We suffered setbacks because we didn't properly capitalize on opportunities where we could have been stronger in the early game."
Kwangdong Freecs DRX will face Hanwha Life Esports in the second match of the DRX Homefront in two days, on the 10th. Regarding this, coach Cho stated, "I believe Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports have different strengths. Our natural style is aggressive and combat-oriented, but today we tried to play like Gen.G. However, I think we've shaken off the nerves, so we will show a better performance against Hanwha Life." 'Willer' added, "Today's match was truly disappointing. Having identified our weaknesses, we will work to fix them and strive to deliver a clean performance against Hanwha Life."
'Willer' also expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese fans, saying, "I visited Vietnam last November, and the fans were passionate then, too. I've met even more fans here in Hanoi, and their enthusiastic support has really made me realize the popularity of the LCK."
