On Sep. 27, in the Hangzhou Asian Games, the quarterfinals of the League of Legends event was held. South Korea faced Saudi Arabia and swept them 2-0 to advance to the next round. Both games took only a bit more than 20 minutes. In the semifinals, South Korea will face China on the 28th at 9 AM, local time.

About the game, South Korean bot laner Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk mentioned that he found the game against Saudi Arabia enjoyable as he praised the opponent’s strong performance. Prior to today’s game, Ruler arrived at the venue at 7:30 AM. At that time, cameras captured him struggling to open his eyes fully in front of the press before heading to the arena. When asked if the early morning match was tough, he responded, “Fortunately, it's not too bad. Waking up in the morning has become routine, and I actually feel that it's better than I expected.”

While South Korea was competing in the quarterfinals, China also secured a victory against Macao. Ruler anticipated an exciting match, saying, “I knew China was strong, so I expected them to advance. They tend to play aggressively in the early game, and their ganking strategies are diverse. So, I anticipate many challenging situations in the early game."

Top laner Choi “Zeus” asserted that the match against China will be different from the previous matches. “Most of the situations up to now were rather easy to deal with. We need to play well against strong teams like China.”

Head coach Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun also expressed his thoughts about the upcoming match against China. “We’ll be competing in the main arena for the first time, but China has played there. That’s my biggest concern.”

As the Asian Games are held in Hangzhou, China, team China will have the support of home fans. About this, kkOma said, “We can’t do anything about it since we’re playing in China, but the players have been working hard up to now. We’re confident that we’ll win the match tomorrow.”

Mid laner Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon, who has been sharing time with Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, also expressed his thoughts. “All I’m thinking about is beating China tomorrow.”

The South Korean national team will go through final practice sessions and discussions for the match against China. Ruler hinted that the team would be talking a lot about the draft strategies, and he emphasized that the team was confident. “I’m still confident about tomorrow's match. The team's atmosphere is good, and everyone appears to be full of confidence.”
