Day 1 of the play-in stage of the 2022 LoL World Championship finally kicked off on Sep 30. The CBLOL representatives, LOUD, managed to go 1-1 in the day, where they lost against the PCS representatives, Beyond Gaming, in their first match, while they took a pre-22 minute victory over the LJL representatives, DetonatioN FocusMe.

After their victory over DFM, the jungler for LOUD, Park “Croc” Jong-hoon, joined Jeesun Park for a quick interview.

For those that aren’t familiar with who you are, can you introduce who you are?

Hello, I’m the 25-year old jungler for LOUD, Park “Croc” Jong-hoon.

Congratulations on your victory over DetonatioN FocusMe. How do you feel about your victory just now?

I think our team composition and our game plan had a clear concept, and while we didn’t play perfectly, we won in the end. It was a good victory, but there’s still things to review.

It was a very one-sided victory over the LJL representatives. LOUD played a really fast paced game overall, so was the fast victory something that the team anticipated?

We love to play very aggressively early, but for game 1, I think we drafted too many passive and scaling picks early on against Beyond Gaming. It feels like we weren’t able to showcase how we really play in the first match, so I’m relieved that we were able to do so against DFM in our second match.

It feels that the teamwork is very vibrant within LOUD. Tell me more about the team atmosphere. As the only Korean player on the team, do you feel you’ve integrated well into the team?

I spent a lot of time overseas, so I’m very used to such a vibrant team culture. The Brazilian players are full of energy, so I hope the cameras are able to capture that energy properly.

This is your first appearance at Worlds. What are some of your goals at Worlds this year?

Up until now, no CBLOL team has made it into the group stage, so we hope to be the first CBLOL team to create that upset and make it to groups. The fans back in Brazil would really love that, and I hope to make them proud.
