Akshon Media has been named the official content production company for both the Overwatch League and Call of Duty League for the upcoming 2022 season, according to a release.

Akshon Media is a media production company that was created in 2016. Since then, the company has expanded its operations in Los Angeles, Seoul, and Vancouver. Apart from their work with Activision Blizzard, they also worked with a number of notable brands such as T1, Guangzhou Charge, Philadelphia Fusion, and a number of other esports organizations.

Now, after a three-year deal with Activision Blizzard producing highlight videos for the Overwatch League, the two parties have come to an agreement to further cement the relationship.

“These production contracts for the global franchises were awarded to Akshon Media for our uncanny ability to create content that truly resonates with global esports fans,” Roger Chan, CEO of Akshon Media said. “Akshon’s hand-picked team understands the storytelling needed to enhance overall fan experience and we’re thrilled to continue our relationship with Activision Blizzard.”

This enhanced partnership between Activision Blizzard and Akshon Media will see the media company produce postgame match highlights, video content for broadcast, as well as behind-the-scenes content for the 2022 Overwatch League season. Furthermore, Akshon Media will expand its efforts in Overwatch League into the Call of Duty League season for the first time.

This new deal with Activision Blizzard will mark Akshon Media’s first season producing match highlights for the Call of Duty League as the media production branches out to Call of Duty.

The 2022 Overwatch League season began on May 5 and is scheduled to run until October 22, where 20 teams are divided into two regions, east and west. Meanwhile, the Call of Duty League began earlier this year on Jan 21 and will end on August 7 as teams look to dethrone reigning champions Atlanta FaZe.
