Another piece of the puzzle to San Francisco Shock's back-to-back championships is released from the team. Dong-jun "Rascal" Kim, who was a major piece to the Shock, is not going to be with the team next season.

In the 2019 season, Rascal was vital as not only he flexed on DPS heroes, but also was a solid support player, namely on Baptiste. This season, Rascal played huge on the DPS role for the Shock, helping them with wins during the regular season and tournament wins.

San Francisco Shock followed up its 2019 Overwatch League championship by defending its title in 2020. Shock narrowly defeated Seoul Dynasty 3-2 in the first round of the OWL 2020 Grand Finals, but Dynasty made a run to the loser bracket to meet Shock once again in the final match. Shock and Dynasty had both scraped out a win against Shanghai Dragons 3-2, but it was Shock who prevailed over Dynasty with a 4-2 victory for the team's 2nd Overwatch League championship.

There is no word as to what Rascal's future is going to be, whether he is going to sign with a new team or retire from Overwatch altogether. Either way, Rascal is an accomplished player in Overwatch's history, not only winning championships with the Shock, but also with the London Spitfire in the inaugural season. Any team to sign Rascal would greatly benefit from his skills and experience.

As for the Shock, Matthew “Super” DeLisi, Grant “Moth” Espe, and Min-Ki “Viol2t” Park are slated to explore free agency this offseason, but can agree to sign with the Shock. However, there is no word about their futures with the team as of yet. The Shock's future can either be in jeopardy or prosperity of repeating titles next season.
