While League of Legends is very much a team game, Worlds brings together some of the most individually talented players together and creates an intense atmosphere of elite mechanical gameplay and execution. We have rated the top five tops, junglers, mids, and supports, and now finally, the top five AD carries at Worlds 2020.

5. Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu — DRX

After the 2019 season, Deft remained the lone starter on DragonX before the DRX rebrand and the roster rebuild. In the 2020 LCK season, DRX finished third in Spring and then upgraded to second in the Summer Split.

Despite often being considered the best AD carry at previous World Championships, Deft has historically underperformed internationally when compared to his domestic success. However, his summer was a slight departure from Deft’s top form despite DRX’s relatively successful summer. Perhaps the opposite of Deft’s previously established career pattern will lead to a stellar performance at Worlds this time around.

4. Tang "huanfeng" Huan-Feng — Suning

The names on Suning’s roster that stand out the most are jungler Lê "SofM" Quang Duy and support Hu "SwordArt" Shuo-Chieh, and it’s easy to attribute whoever they pour resources into as someone simply cleaning up fights. However, huanfeng has been quietly excellent for Suning, holding his own in any situation he’s been thrown into and remaining stable in an otherwise relatively chaotic Suning playstyle.

Despite being less acclaimed than other Chinese AD carries, LPL caster Jake "Hysterics" Osypenko considers Suning's rookie sharpshooter to be the best in China.

"I'd prefer huanfeng over Top Esports AD Carry Yu "JackeyLove" Wen-Bo right now, because of the two ex-IG ADCs, he's actually performing so much better," Hysterics said in an interview with Inven Global. "So there's no doubt in my mind that he's the better AD out of the two."

When compared to other LPL AD carries at worlds, huanfeng is slightly lower in the damage department, and still favors Aphelios more than the current meta requires. However, if Hysterics' evaluation holds true, huanfeng could surprise as an under-the-radar threat at Worlds 2020.

3. Lee "LokeN" Dong-wook — JD Gaming

If one were to look at the results of the 2020 League of Legends Pro League Spring and Summer Playoffs finals — JD Gaming 3-2 Top Esports; Top Esports 3-2 JD Gaming, respectively — it could be assumed that JDG simply got slightly worse in the summer to cause a close result to go the other way. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth. AD carry LokeN and mid laner Zeng "Yagao" Qi, previously considered roleplayers on JDG, stepped up individually in the Summer Split.

LokeN specifically led his role in the LPL in both KDA and the majority of laning phase stats, and while his champion pool isn't the deepest present at Worlds 2020, his core champions are favorable in the meta. JDG is considered a Worlds favorite despite losing the 2020 LPL Summer Playoffs final, and LokeN's individual improvements are a major reason as to why that's the case.

2. Yu "JackeyLove" Wen-Bo — Top Esports

JackeyLove started the 2020 season absent from the LPL despite being a major factor in Invictus Gaming following up its Worlds 2018 championship with a top 4 finish in 2019, but ended up joining Top Esports towards the end of the Spring Split.

Top Esports quickly ascended to a new level of competitiveness and narrowly lost to JDG in the Spring Playoffs final, but after having a full split to gel withJackeyLove in summer, TES managed to triumph and become LPL champions for the first time since the organization’s inception in 2018.

JackeyLove has always come up big individually at Worlds, and international experience will also help a team with three first time players at worlds in top laner Bai "369" Jia-Hao, mid laner Zhuo "knight" Ding, and support Liang "yuyanjia" Jia-Yuan.

1. Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk — Gen.G

JackeyLove isn’t the only former world champion AD carry at Worlds 2020. Ruler won the 2017 World Championship on Samsung Galaxy in a 3-0 sweep against SKT, but since rebranding to Gen.G, the team failed to make it out of groups at Worlds 2018 and missed Worlds 2019 altogether.

This year, Ruler is back with a vengeance as the sharpest spear on an absolutely stacked Gen.G roster who qualified for Worlds 2020 as the #3 LCK seed after beating SK Telecom T1 3-0 in the last match of the 2020 LCK Regional Final.

Ruler led his role in the LCK in Damage Per Minute, Damage Percentage, and Gold Differential at 10. In addition, Ashe is one of the best marksmen in the current meta, and the Frost Archer just so happens to be one of Ruler's best champions throughout his career.

Ruler comes into Worlds 2020 as the best AD carry in the tournament. He puts out an enormous amount of damage and has some of the best mechanics in the world. Despite a talented roster top to bottom, Gen.G’s best look is playing through Ruler as its win condition, so it is vital for him to show up should the team want to succeed. Fortunately for Gen.G, if this summer has been any indication, that won’t be a concern.
