On the 20th of September at the 2018 LCK Spring Promotion Finals, DAMWON Gaming defeated Team Battlecomics 3-1 and qualified for the 2019 LCK season.

Going near undefeated and winning the previous 2018 LCK Challengers summer finals, DAMWON Gaming showed exactly why they deserve to climb out of the Challenger series in today’s match. Although the first game of the series went in the favor of Battlecomics, DAMWON’s signature Yasuo bot lane paired with Nuguri’s Jayce was enough to carry their team to a swift series.

The spotlight for game 3 went to DAMWON’s mid laner, ShowMaker. Picking an unconventional champion into Azir, ShowMaker displayed how big his pool is by playing Katarina. Executing near perfect mechanics on Katarina with the assistance of Nuclear’s Kai’Sa, DAMWON was able, with relative ease, close out game 3.

During game 4, Nuclear helped his team dominate the early to mid game with the Yasuo ADC pick. Having immense peeling potential on the side of Battlecomics, when Yasuo couldn’t clean up the kill in the last teamfight, Nuguri with his Jayce stepped in and got an unofficial quadra kill.

With this result, DAMWON Gaming is now able to participate in the 2019 regular LCK season. Despite going 13-1 in the 2018 summer split, DAMWON Gaming will be going up against tougher teams such as kt Rolster and Griffin. It will be interesting to see the change in dynamic as a new team will be joining the ranks of what is already a tight scene.
