Pearl Abyss is thrilled to announce that Black Desert Online now has over 10 million registered users worldwide.

Four years after its release, Black Desert Online shows no signs of slowing down. Backed by its custom proprietary engine, Black Desert Online presents a game-changing action MMORPG with cutting-edge visuals and skill-based combat that has redefined the genre.

In 2014, Black Desert Online debuted on the Korean market; it then launched in Japan and Russia in 2015, and North America and Europe in 2016. Since then, the game has expanded into South America, Turkey, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Currently, the game is available in over 150 countries, 12 languages and has more than 2.4 billion hours of gameplay.

Last month, Black Desert Online underwent a major overhaul on its graphics and audio. The remastered version of the game adds a stunning look and feel to the game, with 4K video, amazing remastered graphics and new orchestral soundtracks.

Following the release, the number of returning users increased 104% month-over-month in North America and Europe, 246% in Taiwan, 144% in Turkey. The number of new users increased 24% month-over-month in North America and Europe, 35% in Turkey.

“We are very pleased that Black Desert Remastered has been so positively received by the community at large. We will continue to create exciting game content while striving for continuous improvements and optimizations,“ says Jae Hee Kim, executive producer of Black Desert Online.

Even after four years of servicing the game, Pearl Abyss still has a strong passion for the Black Desert IP and is willing to venture into new markets and platforms. Recently, Pearl Abyss successfully launched the mobile version of Black Desert in South Korea and Taiwan. And the Xbox version of the game is scheduled to launch globally in the latter part of 2018.

Skill-based combat, not anymore, it's rng-based combat (at least in pvp). Want a real skill based action combat online game? Vindictus (even though it's almost dead, for the same reasons BDO will eventually die too).

So many people came back for the remastered version, which is great by the way, and just as many left the week after in EU/NA due to the extremely p2w patch.

I don't think they have a right to boast about their billions of hours of gameplay when they design a game around the basis of leaving your character logged in at all times...
