This Friday: What you need to know about the Heroes Western Clash in Katowice



Four teams from North America and Europe will take their talents to Katowice, Poland at the beginning of March to square off in the first Heroes Global Championship tournament of 2018. Western Clash pits both regions against each other for a share of the $75,000 prize pool, bragging rights and the winning region will earn an additional spot at the Mid-Season Brawl in June.

- The Teams

Representing North America with their NA HGC league record in parenthesis are Tempo Storm (6-1), Team Twelve (5-2), Team Freedom (5-2) and HeroesHearth Esports (4-3).

Representing Europe with their EU HGC league record in parenthesis are Team Dignitas (6-1), Fnatic (5-2), Method (5-2) and Zealots (4-3).

In a double-elimination style bracket, teams will face off against one another throughout the weekend of March 2-4 until the champion of the winner’s bracket faces off against the top dog from the loser’s bracket. Sunday’s matchup will determine who takes home the $30,000 first place prize.

The opening round is a best-of-three series, Saturday will move to a best-of-five and Sunday’s grand finals will be capped off with a best-of-seven.

Casting the Western Clash matches are familiar faces from both HGC regions and a newcomer to the scene:
