SKT T1 Faker: "After losing the third game, I thought we would be sent home."

On October 21st, SKT T1 has defeated Misfits on Day 10th of the League of Legends World Championship currently held in Guangzhou, China. The game was very close- Misfits had shown outstanding performance against them. SKT T1 could win by 3-2 after a breathtakingly close game.

SKT T1’s mid laner Sanghyuck “Faker” Lee was interviewed by the Chinese press. The full text of the interview with Faker is as follow.

Q. What is your thought on Powerofevil, the mid laner for Misfits?

His play style was a little bit different from other players. I think he did very well overall.

Q. It seemed that SKT T1’s top and bot lane were not looking good in the second and third game. How did you feel about that as a mid laner during the game?

During the second game in which I played Corki, I thought we still had a chance to win because our team comp was more advantageous in late games. However, the third game in which I played Taliyah, I thought it was a very tough game. But we just focused on the game to find a way to win.

Q. Have you learned anything from today’s match?

I did not learn much from today’s match. But I thought I would need to play safer in next games.

Q. Your team suffered from Ignar’s Blitzcrank. Wasn’t it mentally straining at that game?

We started with many disadvantages because our team wasn’t doing good in the early phase, which made me play more aggressively.

Q. After losing the third game, did you think that you could be eliminated this time?

I thought we would be sent home. Our performance was not good in the second and third game. Yet, no one in our team showed their anxiety, and we could win with everyone making effort.

Q. Bang revealed that kkOma told to players, “Let’s play without any regret”. Did it help you?

It might have been a lot of help to other players. It wasn’t much help for me because I don’t tend to get nervous. I just concentrated on the match just like the first game against Misfits.

Q. Please pick the game in which you were good and weren’t.

In the fifth game, I did everything I could. It even seemed that my performance was good in the first game, but I was able to play like that because the circumstance was too good for me to play badly. So I want to pick the fifth game.

Q. Longzhu was eliminated by Samsung Galaxy in the last game. How did you think about that?

couldn’t imagine Korean teams getting eliminated but I realized that it is possible. I thought Samsung Galaxy’s performance was fabulous.

Q. If SKT T1 managed to advance to the finals, which team would be the hardest to play against?

That would be a Korean team, of course. But Chinese teams also show good performance now, so it doesn’t matter which team we would be playing against.
