Dispatch, the episodic superhero adventure game from AdHoc Studio, has sold more than 5 million copies in its first year, and the studio is marking the anniversary with a one-night live show in Los Angeles.

AdHoc shared the milestone in an exclusive interview with Variety, which also reported that the team behind the game has doubled in size since it launched last October. The event, titled 'Dispatch: Night Shift', was described as "an in-person, live entertainment experience."

What Dispatch: Night Shift involves

Night Shift takes place at the Avalon Hollywood nightclub on December 3rd, with doors at 6 PM PT and the show starting at 7 PM PT. Composer Andrew Arcadi will play the game's original score live, and the score will link each set together. He will be joined by artists from the soundtrack, including Thot Squad, Bershy, Primer, Caroline Kingsbury and Fartbarf, who will play tracks from Dispatch and their own albums.

Tickets were described as "extremely limited." Pre-sale tickets go live on October 28th, with a limit of two per person, and fans can sign up to AdHoc's email list for early access.

AdHoc COO Nick Herman and CEO Michael Choung, two of the studio's founders, told Variety the concert had been in the works since January, when several soundtrack musicians asked to use assets from the game in their own live shows. "It felt like there was an opportunity here where we have our fans going to their shows. Why don't we create a place for everyone and have basically like a mini-festival and celebrate all this stuff," Herman said. The studio has never produced a concert before and is working with Banter Events on the show.

What's next for AdHoc Studio

Dispatch is AdHoc's first original IP. In the game, Aaron Paul voices Robert Robertson, also known as Mecha Man, a dispatch operator who sends a team of misfit heroes out to emergencies around the city. The cast also includes Laura Bailey, Erin Yvette and Jeffrey Wright.

The studio's founders said more announcements for the anniversary were due on October 22nd. Choung said success had handed the team "a blank page," adding: "We're also not in a crazy rush to fill it out, because the potential and the possibilities of a blank page are so exciting."
