VALOFE announced that it is launching the global official service for its PC MMORPG Icarus Online on October 22. The service covers regions including Japan, North America, Europe, and South America, with a South American server added in response to player requests.
According to VALOFE, Icarus Online has accumulated 1 million global players. The game features a "Fellow System" where players tame and utilize monsters, alongside land and aerial exploration using mounts. For this global launch, new content and an improved progression structure will be introduced.
The South American server was not originally part of the service plan. VALOFE had prepared the service around Asia, North America, and Europe, but decided to add the server following a stream of requests from South American players after pre-registration began. Consequently, South American players can access a regional server right from the official launch.
Icarus Online held a global CBT in September and has been running a character pre-creation event since October 16 ahead of the official release. Players can create their characters in advance and share and introduce them on the official community platform, ORVVIT.
VALOFE plans to roll out the global service based on its domestic and international MMORPG live-service experience and will continue to incorporate player feedback into operations moving forward.
A VALOFE representative said, "After the CBT, an unexpectedly large number of South American players requested a server launch. In response, we decided to introduce the South American server alongside the official launch."
