Limited Run Games has announced a physical edition of Hitman: Absolution for Nintendo Switch 2, ported by Feral Interactive, with pre-orders opening on October 30th. The edition is only on sale for a set window.
According to a release, pre-orders run from October 30th at 9:00 AM PT (12:00 PM ET) until December 6th at 11:59 PM ET. The package holds a physical Game Card, a case plus an eight-page booklet. A Game Card is Nintendo's name for the cartridges its consoles use. It costs $49.99 (€55.95, £45.00 or CAD $70.99).
Feral's Switch 2 version adds Joy-Con 2 mouse support. It also runs at a higher frame rate and resolution than on the original Nintendo Switch, the release says. That older console isn't left out: the same Game Card plays the Switch version of the game on it.
Contracts Mode is included too. Players build their own missions in it, then share them online; others try to beat their score and climb the leaderboards.
How Hitman: Absolution plays
Agent 47 is betrayed by the Agency he once served. Hunted by the police, he gets pulled into what the release calls a ‘chilling conspiracy’ (one that sets him against his former colleagues). Limited Run Games bills it as ‘a breathless adventure’.
Instinct Mode lets players spot targets or predict where enemies will move. Point Shooting stops time. Players mark several enemies, then take them all down in one go. There are five difficulty settings; the hardest is Purist mode, which the release calls ‘insanely hard’.
Limited Run Games, based in Apex, North Carolina, was founded in 2015. It says it has published over 1,000 physical games and soundtracks. Feral Interactive was founded in London in 1996; it brings desktop and console games to other platforms, with GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition among its recent Switch 2 releases.
IO Interactive is the independent studio behind Hitman, with studios in Copenhagen, Malmö, Barcelona and Brighton. Its latest release is 007 First Light, a James Bond origin story. It is also working on a new IP codenamed Project Fantasy.
