IzanagiGames announced that the Steam version of its live-action suspense game AKIBA LOST was released on October 20 (PDT). This version adds 200 still images featuring buddy characters.
The release of the Steam version was delayed due to factors such as the review and approval process. IzanagiGames apologized to players who had been waiting and explained that, alongside the release, it improved text display and controls while fixing several bugs.
The added still images can be viewed in the in-game 'AKIBA LOST Album'. Starting from the morning of Day 1, clearing Shinjo's chapter for each time period unlocks the images of the buddy characters who appeared during that time period. If players have save data from completing specific time periods in the demo, the corresponding images will automatically be added to the full version's album. The same update is scheduled to be applied to the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 versions at a later date.
AKIBA LOST is a live-action ensemble suspense game produced over six years. According to IzanagiGames, more than 200 cast and crew members participated, and approximately 200,000 still images were shot during production. It combines live-action video and 360-degree camera scenes with a sound novel format where players progress through the story by switching between characters.
Set in Akihabara, Japan, the story unfolds as game creator Shinjo gathers six unique individuals. To enhance the quality of the game, a TV drama was also produced in collaboration with Nippon Television. The title won the Future Division at the Japan Game Awards 2025.
AKIBA LOST is a single-player game that was released on platforms other than Steam on September 17. It features Japanese voice audio and supports subtitles in Japanese, English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and Korean.
