Korean indie game developer CONCODE has released a new trailer for its mystery action-adventure Graytail, secured development funding from Outersloth, and confirmed an official release in late 2027.
Through the ID@Xbox x IGN showcase held on the 20th local time, CONCODE presented a new trailer for Graytail, which a two-person team has been developing for nearly four years. Produced to highlight its 2.5D visual presentation, the trailer features the first look at Chapter 3, currently under development.
In addition, the studio successfully raised development funding from Outersloth, an indie game fund operated by Among Us developer Innersloth. Casey Yano of Mega Crit Games, the developer of Slay the Spire, and a mystery investment partner also joined this investment. Outersloth is a fund that provides purely financial support, enabling developers to complete their projects while retaining full ownership of their IP and creative direction.
Graytail tells the story of tracking down a famous female pilot who disappeared in the Pacific. A detective suffering from severe headaches teams up with the pilot's daughter to investigate the case. Players can use a cane as their primary weapon alongside sidearms such as an umbrella and a frisbee, while riding a motorbike to traverse five regions and solving puzzles by combining weapons and environmental objects.
Following its reveal, the title reached 50,000 Steam wishlists, while its demo recorded a 98% "Very Positive" rating on Steam. With this funding secured, the developer plans to refine the combat system and increase the density of the story and each region. Consequently, the currently available demo will end in November 2026, and a new demo featuring updated combat will be released at a later date. The full version will launch in late 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox PC platforms, with support for Xbox Play Anywhere. Other platforms will be released sequentially.
Myung-jin Shin, co-founder of CONCODE, said, "To be honest, I was surprised that Outersloth decided to invest so quickly after our meeting. Just looking at the terms shows how indie-friendly they are, but communicating with them directly made me feel even more strongly that they genuinely trust developers and want to support us in every way."
He added, "They were the partner we wanted to work with most from the very beginning. On top of that, it's a huge honor to receive investment from Casey Yano and Outersloth's third partner as well. The fact that this is funding rather than a publishing deal is also deeply meaningful to us, as it allows us to gain hands-on experience self-publishing the game."
Regarding the release timeline, he stated, "We set the release for late 2027 to further polish the combat and raise the overall level of quality. We will reward players who have been waiting with a satisfying game."
Founded in 2021, CONCODE is a two-person Korean indie studio where Myung-jin Shin handles programming and narrative, while Sun-hyang Kim oversees art and animation. The studio previously recorded 3.5 million cumulative downloads and a 4.7 rating with its debut mobile story game, The Way Home, handling every step of the process in-house—from planning and development to art and release.
