Cygames has canceled the upcoming Los Angeles concerts for 'Uma Musume: Pretty Derby' due to visa issues. The performances were scheduled to take place on October 22 and 23 local time.
On the 20th, Cygames announced on its official website the cancellation of the Los Angeles leg of the Uma Musume: Pretty Derby World Tour, which was set to take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, on October 22 and 23 local time. The event could not proceed after failing to secure the necessary visas for U.S. entry.
Cygames previously posted a notice on the 19th stating that visa approvals were delayed. At the time, the company explained that although it had worked with local U.S. attorneys and promoters for over six months to prepare the visas, approval had not been granted with just days remaining before the show. It continued to coordinate with relevant agencies and partners to explore every possible option to hold the event, but ultimately decided to cancel after failing to obtain the required visas.
Cygames stated, "We sincerely apologize to all the Trainers who were looking forward to the performance for the inconvenience and concern caused, as well as for delivering this news so close to the event." The company also expressed its apologies to the cast members and partner personnel who had been preparing for the concert.
Following the cancellation, both in-person venue tickets and online streaming tickets will be refunded. Cygames is also considering additional support measures for attendees who had planned to visit the site in person. Detailed information will be provided later on the official website.
Meanwhile, 'Uma Musume: Pretty Derby 7th EVENT WORLD TOUR THE STAGE' is the franchise's first-ever world tour concert series. Starting with the Tokyo, Japan shows in June, the tour was scheduled to be held in Los Angeles, London, Seoul, and Yokohama. The Los Angeles event was planned to feature 17 voice actors who portray in-game characters, including Tokai Teio, Oguri Cap, and Kitasan Black.
