'PUBG: FINAL CIRCLE', a physical card game utilizing Krafton's PUBG IP, is preparing for a Kickstarter campaign.
CardMonster announced on the 16th that it will soon launch fundraising on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter for the official release of 'PUBG: FINAL CIRCLE'. A teaser trailer was also released on its official YouTube channel. The funding start date, target goal, and product pricing have not been disclosed.
'PUBG: FINAL CIRCLE' is a battle royale card game for 2 to 5 players. Each player takes control of a character with unique abilities across multiple rounds. A new battlefield opens each round, where players secure weapons and items before engaging in combat with other survivors—translating the original game's "loot then fight" loop onto the tabletop.
Combat uses a trick-taking system. If a player holds a card of the same color as the lead card played, they must follow suit with that color. Cards with higher numbers are easier to win tricks with but deal lower damage, while cards that deal high damage are harder to win with. In this structure, a single card choice determines both victory or defeat in the trick and the magnitude of damage dealt. When a player has no card matching the lead color, they can play an advantageous counter-color to "Counter" or deal immediate damage via "Ambush." The winner of the battle selects a target to strike. Tactics vary depending on the combination of character abilities, weapons, and items, with the last remaining survivor claiming victory. The original game's victory phrase, "Chicken Dinner," is also preserved.
The game is developed and published by CardMonster, with Solis Game Studio participating as a development partner. Suhyun Son, CEO of CardMonster, previously stated, "Krafton and CardMonster have entered into an official partnership to bring PUBG to life as a physical card game." Son added, "PUBG is not just a game, but one of the iconic cultural moments defining an era in gaming history. That world is now moving beyond the screen and onto the tabletop."
CardMonster is a tabletop game startup founded in Seoul in September 2023. CEO Son previously worked as a game designer and producer at Nexon, PUBG, and Krafton. CardMonster has developed Disney IP board games under a licensing agreement with The Walt Disney Company Korea and received early-stage investments from US venture capital firm 500 Global and Mashup Ventures. The company highlights a game creation platform that uses AI to automate card design, balancing, and content expansion as its core business.
