Amazon MGM Studios has brought Sacha Baron Cohen's Ali G to Fortnite Creative, dropping the character onto Drive City — one of the mode's popular open-world city roleplay maps — ahead of the theatrical release of Ali G: Who Iz I?.

According to a release, the campaign was built with UGC games and media company Chartis. It runs from October 16th through October 30th. Players join via island code 6246-3089-1172 on Drive City. The film, directed by Cohen, opens in theaters on October 23rd.

Fortnite Creative is Epic's user-generated side of Fortnite. Creators build islands; players load them with a code rather than dropping into the main battle royale. Drive City is a long-running open-world roleplay map. Chartis has used it before for film tie-ins.

West Staines in Drive City

The run kicks off with a live arrival event. Players gather to welcome Ali G — until locals interrupt. He ducks into Nan's house while players clear the area. Then he steps back out and takes the credit. The beat introduces West Staines and sets up his next push: getting more famous.

From there, players join his marketing campaign. They put up posters and place character cutouts. They can also drive his branded speaker van around the city. Each job builds his fame. Custom signage, graffiti and soundbites (original dialogue recorded by Cohen) fill the streets as they go.

The finale swaps Drive City's landmark sign for Ali G's name and unlocks his yellow car for players to drive around the map. Progress is self-paced across the two-week window.

Ali G: Who Iz I? is Cohen's return to the character on the big screen since 2002's Ali G Indahouse. More on the film is at Amazon's Ali G: Who Iz I? page.
