To mark the 30th anniversary of the Gran Turismo series, PlayStation has unveiled the Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV (Part 1) update alongside the DualSense Wireless Controller – Gran Turismo Limited Edition. The update includes six new vehicles and six new 'World Circuits' events.
The update will be available starting at 3:00 PM on the 15th. It features the newly added 'Sportsland SUGO' circuit, new 'Scapes' locations, a Car Viewer feature, and Experience mode. An internet connection is required to apply the update.
Among the new vehicles, the electric hypercar 'Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo' features a teardrop-shaped cockpit, air channels running through the body, and an active wake control system, achieving a balance between low drag and high downforce.
The 1994 'Ferrari F355 Berlinetta ’94' is a mid-engine sports car styled by Pininfarina, blending aerodynamic performance with Ferrari's signature curves. Also joining the lineup is the 'Honda Civic Si Group A version ’87,' based on the Mugen Motul Civic that won the overall class title in the 1987 All-Japan Touring Car Championship. Developed from the 3rd-generation Civic Si model, it is a Group A race car.
The 'Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo ’26,' continuing the rotary engine legacy, is also included in the update. Built upon the 'GT3 CONCEPT'—which combined SKYACTIV technology with a 4-rotor engine inspired by the Le Mans-winning 787B—this model has been further evolved for track competition.
A minivan and a classic car have also been added. The 'Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line ’23' is a higher-tier model of the Step WGN featuring a spacious interior, low floor, and large sliding doors, accentuated by the Spada's signature front grille and chrome trim. The 'Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston ’86' is introduced as a French people's car that was produced for 42 years following its 1948 release, featuring a simple design, supple suspension, and generous interior space.
The series' 30th-anniversary controller will launch worldwide in limited quantities starting December 10. Inspired by Gran Turismo's craftsmanship and engineering, the design features racing stripes and motorsport graphics, combined with a textured carbon-fiber-style front plate to express automotive design and performance elements.
